Does anyone else want to punch Tyra Banks in the face like I do?

I have had the hardest time getting in the Christmas spirit this year for some reason. Not sure why. It could be because I haven't gone to see the tree at Rockefeller Center or gone through the hustle and bustle of 5th Ave. I love this time of year and I feel that I haven't gotten to experience it. That is, until last week........

Since 2000 I have dressed up as Britney Spears. I did this out of spite to all those who would continue to say, "Do you know who you look like..." At first it was fun. Red Space Suit, Sweaty Pink Bikini thing with a Snake, Madonna Wedding dress. But for the past 3 years it seems to keep going down hill. Pregnant with a looser husband, Pregnant with older child on hip and dropping him in public. But nothing was worse than this year. CRAZY BALD LADY!!!!
Enjoy making fun of me..... Bethany went as the drugged out Amy Winehouse. If you notice the black boxes on both of our ankles... those were our rehab alcohol detectors.
Ayla and Matt were the very posh David and Victoria Beckham.
Still Crazy and Busting out the car windows.

Every 7 years we have a duty. A duty to our country. Well I reported for duty last week for 2 days. Jury Duty!!!
Since I have been a voting adult I have managed to avoid the summons to the call of duty. I have only voted in the great state of Louisiana but have used an absent ballot to vote. When I would get my summons sent in the mail to my parents house I of course had to let them down due to the fact that I lived in the Music City that is Nashville. 3 years ago I registered in NYC by accident. I was out shopping and someone stopped me on the street and asked if I was resisted in New York. I said, "why no, I'm not" and since I wanted to fit in as much as possible in the Big Apple I decided to sign my name. 3 years later they found me. In a city of 8 million people how in the heck did they choose me???
Thursday I made my way to 100 Centre St at 8:45 AM. An hour and 15 minutes before I even need to be at work. I come to realize that the building I am reporting to happens to be the Building that they film for Law and Order in (insert music here). I go up to my assigned room and quickly feel like I am in drivers ed or summer school, you know the feeling of walking into a class room setting with all new people that you have never seen before, all of different ages and the strange teacher in the front that tries to make jokes but you can tell is really hating his life.
I was told to wait, and wait, and wait. So I chose to wait in the room that i was allowed to talk, eat, drink, and computerize myself in. It wasn't so bad. I had my own cubical and my own little space set up to my liking.
An hour or two we were told to come into the main room for the calling of the jurors. I didn't think at all that my name would be called, as my name is never called out of a hat for anything. I stood there with mixed feelings. A- I didn't want to be called for the chance of getting picked to sit on a week long trial; B- i wanted to be called just for the lucky fact of finally being pick for something.
He got to juror 20, still not picked. 21, nothing. Then on my lucky number 22 i hear "Jamie Chitty (pronounced correctly)". Out of excitement and entertainment purposes I scream "BINGO". Anything for a laugh sometimes.
We all eventually go in to the court room with the judge. I was a little nervous as i didn't know what to expect. My judge was a mix between Harry from Night Court and the man who played Alf's adopted father in ALf. Does that make any sense? Regardless, he was entertaining and explained everything with such detail and humor. He picked 20 people to sit in the jury seats and interview each one. Now most people would get nervous about this and not want to do it, but when i saw there was a cordless mic involved I was biting at the chance to get up there. Turns out the attorneys pick the people who were first up there so i didn't get my chance to preform. I thought about busting out a song or two from Chicago.
With humming the Law and Order theme song ALL DAY LONG my day one was over.
Day two, still humming the song, was a piece of cake. I was a pro at this point. I walked right in, "Hi Larry. Good Morning!" Larry was the man that picked the names and explained all about jury duty. "Morning Sunshine", apparently the nickname that Larry made up for me in a day. After greeting the rest of my jury crew i sat in my cubicle and did my thing. Come lunch break we were ready to go home and my jury duty was complete. I am good for the next 7 years. At age 38 I will be put in the hat again to get called in. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get to do my bit for the judge with the microphone.
While saying good bye to security downstairs and exiting 100 Centre St in NYC I was, again, humming the Law and Order theme song. As I walked out the front doors and down the stairs, still humming, i look across the street. There, 30 steps away, they were filming none other than Law and Order. The perfect end to my duty as an American Citizen. DUN DUN!!!

While we were in Newport for the wedding we managed to have a good time and meet tons of great people as well. It's nice to work with people you want to hang out with and travel with.
I got to drive by myself in a car. I was very excited about this because I never get to drive anymore. I blasted the music as loud as I could and sang at the top of my lungs for 3 hours straight.
Part of the gift bags was Newport Style Kettle Chips. We had to by 75 bags. Here is the car after we made our purchase.
We Spent one night after dinner at an old arcade. It was awesome. We were running around that place with tons of tokens trying our hardest to rack up enough tickets to buy the best prizes there. Why is it that we never seem to grow out of things like this??? I really had to have the plastic over sized blow up Yankee baseball bat.
Lori won the devil horns and Barb won the lip harmonica that they so both desired.
We made friends with a few of the groomsmen and Friends, of course. We also made routines to Total Eclipse of the Heart. The Kleenex adds a nice touch, don't you think?
Attempting to be Patrick Swayzie and Jennifer Gray from Dirty Dancing.
Why did I pay to have this done is beyond me. We were on vacation. We went out one night there and I thought that it was funny that the stamp they gave you said "Single". Like I need a stamp on my hand to tell me that.
Working at the wedding. It's tough, you always have your hands full.
Still working at the wedding, just having more fun now since it's almost over.
We all know I am an Icee girl. What is this Slush Puppie business??

Not too long ago the girls attended a party for a friend in the Financial District. It was a fun night. The apartment was directly across from the NYSE. We vary rarely go below Canal Street but this time we made an exception and ended up having a blast. Here are a few shots from that night.

Here are a few pics that I haven't posted yet. Just random shots of my life in the city.
In the shadow of my city , I enjoy Frutti de Boscco gelato. I don't have enough shots of the landmarks. I will do a better job.Dave Dewese, Bethany and I giving our best Zoolander pose.
A night out with B.
Watching the US Open on the jumbo-tron in Madison Square Park while Bethany tries to study for the CPA. She didn't get a lot of done. We ended up going shopping instead.

This morning on my way to work , while wearing my favorite black heals, I had a problem. I stepped on the lone manhole in the middle of the street and got my heal stuck in the ONE tiny hole in the manhole. Now, this always seems to happen and you usually just give a little pull and you are back on your way. Not the case this time. It was in there. It was so stuck I was not going anywhere. I pulled and pulled and nothing. I looked up and saw traffic coming my way so I took my foot out and started pulling with my hands. Nothing. I actually had to direct traffic away from my show. I was screaming at the honking cabs, "Sorry, please don't hit my shoe", never once asking them to not hit me. I hear a little giggling coming from the sidewalk and looked up to see someone taking photos of me. Sure he could have helped me but that would be non- New Yorker of him. After 5 whole minutes of pulling, screaming at cabs, and contemplating what to do if I have to let the shoe go, I finally was set free. I stood up and blew my hair out of my face all to see now a herd of people gathered standing there applauding me. I waved, put my shoe back on and finished my journey to the office, whilst saying under my breathe, "Only in New York". Does anyone else find it ironic that this was a clip out of the Wedding Planner movie and I am in the same sort of business??? Anyone???

I can’t believe the summer’s almost over. It seems like it just started and next week will are already into September. I haven’t even made a dent in my summer wardrobe. I have only been to the beach three times and have only ridden one roller coaster this year. It seems like the year has moved at a faster pace than I am used to. Before ya know it Christmas will be here and then I turn 32, yikes. I guess it’s time to start making the most of the nice weather and spend every second outside.
Here are a few pictures from a few summer time activities this year.
Going to the beach is easy from the city. We just hop on the train and 30 minutes later we are at Long Beach. Here we are enjoying a nice East Coast Day. Notice my non matching swimsuit??? Ya, that’s what happens when your luggage gets stolen and you have no time to shop for a swimsuit. (me, Angie, Logan, and Ayla) Never have seen these till I moved up to the North, but every time the water runs back from the wave these little white crab like things crawl back to the ocean. Freaks me out. Everyone tried to catch them, me, I tried to avoid screaming like a little girl.
Yes, I got into the ocean. Up to my thighs. Logan cheered me on, as I was not going to let a nine year old show me up.
Sweet Loo, she is such a sport.
CONEY ISLAND!!!!
I finally made it out there. Apparently they are getting rid of it. Not sure why, not sure what they are really doing to it, they might just be redoing it. Nonetheless, I made it out there. I went with a friend of mine who grew up in Long Island, so he is a pro. He made sure that I got the full Coney Island Experience. Nathan’s is a must!! It was established in 1916 and has the best dogs in the world. I mixed it up with a corn dog and fries. Ummm, delicious.
The Cyclone and the Wonder Wheel are a few more ledges. I think the Cyclone is a rush because you never know when it’s going to fall apart.
The Best name for a ride EVER
This cat was in charge of this game. I swear, there was no one running it. Kinda odd.
