A Wonderful Weekend!!!

This past weekend was Duncan's 30th birthday. So his wonderful wife Cassis (a.k.a The Mrs.) arranged the perfect weekend in the country. 23 of us drove out to Cotswold, one of the many beautiful villages in the country. It's about 2 hours Northwest of London. We had a group of country houses all to ourselves. The weekend consisted of games, grilling out, Wii, Karaoke, dancing, tennis, murder mystery, hikes, trying to catch sheep and plenty of celebrating. It was a very relaxing weekend and I am a little sad that the 4 days are over. But at least I get to look forward to Italy this weekend!!!!

Here are some photos from the weekend... Here come the photos....
This was where we stayed. You can rent out all the houses. It's owed by the same family and has everything you need. Even Tennis courts. It's perfect for large groups. If anyone needs the info let me know.

I don't get to see sheep a lot so I was so excited to see fields and fields of sheep. I was overly excited when I saw that there were sheep on the land we were staying. So I decided that I HAD to go hug a sheep.
They were not excited about me trying to hug them.
I found out why they were not excited the next morning when there were 4 baby sheep born that night. Yes, I know Lambs is the proper name for baby sheep but I think it sounds cuter this way. They were so adorable. They ran around chasing each other and ramming into each other.
Grilling out!!!!!
Jon and I frolicking in the fields.
Karaoke Night!!!
Murder Mystery Night!!! We all had a description of our characters before hand so we had time to get our costumes prepared. I was Allison Williams, an old Hollywood star that was now a storekeeper but stuck in her past and called everyone darling. Jon was Pat Gaffney, an Irish land owner with a drug problem. Jon decided to go as a Leprechaun instead.
The Debt collector and Cardinal

I thought he was still cute all green.I had to make my whole costume because I couldn't find it in the stores. So I bought a swimsuit cover up and sewed feathers to it. Then I also sewed them on some old shoes as well. It was fun to have short hair and be in character all night. Jon has powder all over him because he was addicted to cocaine, his character of course. So he kept throwing it all over him and screaming "Potatoes".This is in the little town called Burford. It's lovely. It was formed in 1088. Oh so old. Pimms and Lemonade. A refreshing drink for a sunny afternoon.Such a friendly bear!!!An old English Candy Shop. I had something called a Flying Saucer. It was NOT good.

Friends

Through the beauty of Facebook I have been able to reconnect with some old friends. But who knew that it would take me moving to London to see them. The Reiboldt's used to live in Shreveport. They were there until 1994 and then moved to Atlanta. I haven't seen them since. They just happened to be in London the same time I was there. Their youngest son, Mark, was graduating from Business school. When I last saw him he was in 7th grade. Now he is married and has a 1 year old. How fast time flies and how old it makes me feel.

Dinner at Antanella and Warren's place a few weeks ago. It was a blast and the food was great!!
Our beautiful Host'sCassie and Duncan Jon and I. Not sure what he was laughing at but it doesn't look nice.

One Month In

So far so good. A month in and I am still here. I will post more writings soon, I have them already written just need to post them. As for now here are some photos of what I have been up to. I will be sending these in a few different posts as to not overload you with picture after picture. I promise to keep up with my blog more often. I know I have been slacking for a month so here is a little something for you in the meantime.

Every Saturday morning Jon and I have "Lips" contest, it's a singing game on X-Box. We compete just the two of us every weekend. So much that we tend to loose our voices. One weekend we had guests over to compete with us.
In March it was Jon's Birthday. We out with the crew to Mango Tree, a Thai restaurant close to Buckingham Palace. It was lovely.

Duncan and CassieAntanella and Warren (aka The Woz)Amanda and Eddie (Jon's roommate)Anna and Zander (they are expecting in a month)Here is the new statue of the Queens Mum. It was getting dark out so it's not lit the best. How odd to be royalty. I can't imagine living that life.

Walking through Hyde Park and ran into baby ducks. Oh so cute!
We went to Harrods and had high tea. It was delicious. The Crumpets were a delight and i could not stop eating them. Yes, I am having tea every night now.

I swear that I will blog more and write more. Jon just got home from work and we are having steaks tonight so I need to give him attention and get dinner started. I am a regular Donna Reid it seems.
